Lee Gyamfi, a promising Photographer, who is poised to change the word through photography has confessed that, optimism and consistency has always been the 'magic' to success.
He made this known in a brief chat with Nambe TV on Sunday, 11th February, where he shared his story with regard to the journey through photography.
Growing up from Bawku in the Upper East Region where his Father Pastored for close to a decade, Lee Gyamfi has been optimistic about life, and always consistent with all his dealings.
His influence, as well as self-respect has played an important role in bringing him this far.
Lee, following his exploits in photography finally took it up as a full time profession in 2015, from where he has managed to create a brand for himself with Lee Jay Photography and Freeze It as the brand name and tagline respectively.
"I started photography officially as an apprentice to Godwin Agbernorku in Sapeiman. He was talented and his style of photography was what interested me more. Just freezing moments unto the cards and lifting my head to see life continue was very wonderful."
"...By the Grace of God, I've been able to create a brand for myself on campus through the counsel of my friends, Joseph Agbezuke and Nambe Patrick. They saw my passion and respected it."
Photography is however 'costly', Lee Gyamfi affirmed. It requires a lot of money to acquire useful equipment for every field work, and not just that, the slow and unwillingness of some clients to pay him for his services hasn't been too good for him.
"Photography is expensive. Money issues, coupled with discouragement from some people, as well slow payments from people has always been a headache. Moreover, I need to attend lectures and also work at the same time."
"...People love pictures taken of them for free. But photography goes beyond clicks. It is a function of deep appreciation of beauty and a long time of learning at the expense of doing other works which may fetch more money."
Lee Jay also disapproves claims which seem to tag him as an excessive money lover, reasons why he chose photography.
"Most people think I'm into photography because money. The truth is photography is rewarding but every good Photographer does it not for money. But to get all the gadgets, knowledge and be better. I need money."
"...Moreover, having a good name and earning respect as an incredible photographer is a priority.."
In spite of the numerous challenges involved in the photography business, Lee Gyamfi isn't giving up at any point in time since the passion has always been dominant.
"Have you seen pictures from Yaa Asantewaa? Oh yes you may have seen a portrait of her. What if there was more pictures of her without the gun and all the war apparels on her? What if you saw her smile? Her friends? Her fun? That you knew more about her with an ever freeze of pictures? The world is changing and I would like to show the future how beautiful mine is someday to come."
He has assured his fans of more exciting moments things and has urged them to watch out for super initiatives in the near future.
"I have all my fans at heart and will continue to serve their interests. I will tell the world how beautiful they're with freezes as proves. My fans should watch out for finer initiatives tailored to cater for academic needs from drama skits, and news reporting among others.
