A 19-year old final year student of the Suhum Islamic Girls Senior High School met her untimely death along the Suhum-Nsawam stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Monday night when she was knocked down by a speeding Urvan Bus.
The late General Arts student who is partaking in the ongoing West African Senior High School (WASSCE) was knocked down by the vehicle while crossing the busy highway to meet his boyfriend.
According to eye witnesses, Patience Gyamfua Asiedua while at preps received a call from the boyfriend on a friend’s phone asking her to meet him at the roadside for a brand new mobile phone.
Excited by the news, the deceased was said to have escaped from school through an unapproved route to go and meet the boyfriend who stood at the other side of the road.
And it was while crossing the road that she was knocked down by the Mini bus with registration number, GR 4087-13 at the school’s junction. She died on the spot.
The driver whose name was only given as Yaw is now in the custody of the Suhum Police.
Patience’s body has since been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital Morgue awaiting autopsy.
