Some students at the Ghana Institute of Journalism were stranded into entering the various Lecture Halls for lectures on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Despite the assurance from the Students' Representative Council of a sucessful and smooth semester, it has turned out that students are lamenting over new directives from the School's management to lock all Lecture Halls before and after every class.
The new directives according to reports, will require students to stand outside for five minutes even if they have another lecture at the same class since these halls will be locked.
Described as worrying by majority of students on campus, this move is to ensure that all equipments fixed in the Lecture Halls are protected according to Edith Amegatcher, a Class Representative of Level 200A.
Meanwhile, the S.R.C. President, Mr. Martin Thompson Ntem has indicated he is not aware of any such directives.
The Students' Representative Council in a communiqué issued on Sunday, 11th February, 2018 promised students of a successful semester in a conducive environment.
However, it is unclear whether this directive will continue till the end of the semester.
